Autumn Oak Lamp |
One of the Natural icons of the Arts & Crafts movement is the white oak tree. A client wanted a table lamp that "fit" with the Arts & Crafts style, but didn't want to provide more guidance than that. We chose to make an homage to the source of the material, the wood of the white oak, that makes our craft possible. |
As always, the beautiful piece is hand made, of white oak, with a shade of copper and mica. |
The grace of the lamp comes from the very structure. Note the hand set rivets on the lamp shade. The base is a very complex solid that shows itself to be exactly what it is, many pieces of oak assembled into a pleasing shape. |
