Point of personal opinion:  Beauty is additive.

A former client came back to Desert Craftsmen asking for a place to display her Arts & Crafts pottery.   Her concerns, however, went beyond the usual worries about size, materials, finish and price.  She was worried that what we made might distract from attention to her cabinet's contents.  'Not a problem,', we said.

Does the frame distract from the art in it?  Not if the framer knows what he's doing.  It should add, not distract.  What we came up with is from the heart of Mission style, simple, clean, and with a subtle beauty that's only apparent afterwards.  Like a fine meal on a beautiful plate.  The main event is what you see first.  Only later do you admire the beauty of the dish.

With fixed shelves top, middle and bottom and adjustable shelves between, there's room for a kiln-load of pottery visible but safe behind glass doors.

Expressed joinery doesn't have to take up a lot of room, either.  We had a specific niche to fill and we did it with efficiency and style.

Beauty adds to beauty.

Success!
