Jewelry Armoire

One of the luxuries that the Arts & Crafts Movement didn't supplant is esoteric pleasure of adorning oneself with exotic, sparkling, colorful things.  If one has such adornments, it's handy to have something in which to to keep.  Somewhere to keep the collection sorted, neat, and untangled.

Our client asked us to make a jewelry armoire to perform that function, and asked us to have some fun with the design.  We chose to create an homage to Charles and Henry Greene's California style.  In the process, we created a piece that incorporated thirteen flocked drawers and trays, two wing doors to hold hanging pieces, a staging tray, and a mirrored lid to allow examination and admiration of the effect achieved.

The construction of this piece is of African Mahogany and Maple.  Note the Greene & Greene-inspired detail including modified-finger jointed drawers and solid ebony accents.

False modesty aside, it's something to behold.
