Historic Recreations

Along with the work-a-day world of custom Arts & Crafts and Mission furniture, the skills of working in wood and the craftsmanship it instills has certain responsibilities beyond mere business.  It's a craft, and as all crafts, it's a living thing.  Likewise, particularly fine or historically significant examples of the craft need to be maintained and preserved.  And in some cases, recreated.

Desert Craftsmen was honored to be selected to participate in two preservation/historic re-creation projects for the National Park Service.  Not only are the sites interesting and historically significant, but the work was worth doing in and of itself. We feel we owe it to the craft.
